Starting this week, all school sites and departments will be getting another allocation of At-Home/OTC Covid test kits to distribute between February 8-10th.

Black History Month is just around the corner (the whole Month of February). I understand that you have been notified of Black Parent Involvement Day (BPID) on February 21, 2023, so I am writing this personal reminder. BPID, is a day of participation for the whole school community that is meaningful to African American parents and students. This day is an excellent opportunity to have parents visit your school to gain insights into how well it operates and the programs and activities you make available to their children.

Student Attendance & Engagement Office Messaging for Winter

Every winter, bad weather and colds, fevers and earaches can present challenges to getting children to school. On top of all that, hardships have worsened for many and students may have to stay home due to Covid-19 or flu.

Chronic absence more than doubled in 2021-22.  It is even more important to communicate with our families about the  importance of learning and offering support to help them overcome challenges! Too many absences can make it hard for students to stay engaged, connected and learning.
