Bulldog Cafe 11/6

Overview

Parents and Guardians are invited to attend the second Bulldog Cafe of the year on November 6! Our first session had a wonderful turnout and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back again on the 6th. 

This time, we will be focussing on the High School application process. Mrs. Menefee, our 8th grade counselor, will be presenting, so this a great opportunity for both 7th and 8th grade parents to learn more about the process and get any questions answered.

A Brief Introduction

I鈥檓 pleased to introduce myself as the Community Schools Specialist for Fern Bacon Middle School. I鈥檓 very excited about the work ahead and how this movement can help our students grow and succeed. 

I am a credentialed secondary English teacher, but have most recently worked as a program specialist for English Learners in a neighboring district. I am passionate about helping all students succeed, and am learning about the unique challenges that our students face and how help mitigate these challenges.

Dear Sac City Unified Families,

Sac City Unified, like all districts in California, receives state funds to operate our schools based on the number of students enrolled in our district, and on the socio-economic status of our students. This formula is called the Local Control Funding Formula, or LCFF. The state LCFF process is the main source of funding for our schools.

We want to ensure that our district receives every dollar of state funding that our students deserve. This is why we ask every family to complete and submit an LCFF Application.

Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Application

Overview

All families play a critical role in ensuring our Sacramento City Unified schools are properly funded. You can do your part by completing the required Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) application.

Regardless of your income, the LCFF Application must be completed by all families. This is because a large portion of the funds received from the state are based on the socio-economic status of our students. Collecting this information from all families will ensure 麻豆果冻传媒 schools receive the maximum amount of state funding possible.

This important extra funding is used to provide more comprehensive programs to ensure that all students are given an equal opportunity to be grade level ready and graduate with the greatest number of postsecondary choices from the widest array of options. 

You and your school community give input into how this funding is used through the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).

The LCFF application was available through October 31, 2024.
