SACRAMENTO - Sacramento City Unified School District announced today the debut of a new Mental Health Wellness App for students. The app, called grace, stands for 鈥淕iving Resources and Care Everyday.鈥  The wellness app was created by students, for students and connects users with school-based resources, local community resources, a virtual calming room, crisis support lines and more. 6.9.2021 PERB determination finding SCTA violated the law for refusing to negotiate with 麻豆果冻传媒 on successor contract

PERB found that SCTA failed to negotiate in good faith with the District over a successor contract for over a year and failed to respond to the District鈥檚 proposals which unreasonably delayed negotiations and thwarted the possibility of reaching an agreement.

Sac City Unified Seeks Impasse Determination to Resolve Issues Impacting Continuity of Learning During the 2021-2022 School Year

Sacramento, CA 鈥 Today the Sacramento City Unified School District declared that it has reached an impasse in its efforts to negotiate with the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) over issues related to reopening schools for in-person instruction and independent study during the 2021-22 school year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The district has submitted a request for an impasse determination from the Public Employment Relations Board.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Students and Staff Approved by Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education

Sacramento, CA 鈥 The Sacramento City Unified School District took action at the October 12 Special Board of Education Meeting to require vaccinations against COVID-19 for both staff and eligible students (ages 12 and over) by November 30, 2021. 

The process to submit vaccination records, or to file an exemption for medical or personal beliefs, will be announced later this month for those opting to undergo regular routine COVID-19 testing.

Sacramento City Unified School District Trials Safety Technology on School Buses

Sacramento, CA 鈥  In an effort to assess pupil transportation safety and to tackle the problem of motorists illegally passing stopped school buses, Sacramento City Unified School District has partnered with to launch a pilot program. The district has equipped five of its buses with AI-powered stop-arm cameras to help deter drivers from illegally passing stopped school buses.
