As a reminder, the State Seal of Civic Engagement application deadline is April 17th. To receive the State Seal this year, students will have to complete their applications and have demonstrated all of the following requirements:

At the March 21 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board announced that Kaylee Gomez B. Cervantez has been appointed Principal of Father Keith B. Kenny Elementary School.

The Multilingual Department is proud to announce the ELD Teacher of the Year Recognition. This is the first year we are going to celebrate teachers who serve our Emergent Bilinguals formerly known as English learners.

At the March 7 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board announced that Christopher Ralston has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent for Facility Support Services, and recognized students from Miwok Middle School who participate in the 鈥淥akey Dokies鈥� as Stellar Students. The Oakey Dokies is an extracurricular jazz band ensemble directed by district music teacher Patricia Wassum. The students named their band as a play on words with the new Miwok mascot, the mighty Oak tree.

Will Add 16 Days of Quality Instruction Over Two Upcoming School Years
The Sacramento City Unified School District (麻豆果冻传媒) and the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) have agreed to a learning recovery plan that will provide the district鈥檚 38,000 students with 16 additional days of quality instruction over two academic years (8 days per year).

Graduating seniors, you may be eligible to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy. If you meet the following criteria, you may qualify to take a language exam.

At the February 15 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Sam Brannan Middle School students Sabrina Mallette and Bella Pedroza as Stellar Students. Sabrina is recognized by school staff for being kind, hardworking, creative, and caring for her school community. Bella is a straight A student with a passion for learning, excellent citizenship, and classwork that consistently exceeds expectations.
Joint Statement from 麻豆果冻传媒 and SCTA on Two-Year Contract Agreement
The Sacramento City Unified School District (麻豆果冻传媒) and the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) have reached agreement on a two-year contract that runs through June 30, 2025.

February 1, 2024
At the February 1 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Melanie Raya, a student at Hollywood Park Elementary School. Melanie is a member of the Hollywood Park Elementary School Leadership Club and plays on the school鈥檚 basketball team. Staff at Melanie鈥檚 school describe her as hard-working, trustworthy, responsible, respectful, and say she is a great role model for her fellow students.
TK-8 Open Enrollment Starts February 5
The 麻豆果冻传媒 Open Enrollment application for incoming Transitional Kindergarten through 8th Grade opens Monday, February 5 at 8:00 a.m. and will run through Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for your student to apply for enrollment to a different school than their neighborhood school for the 2024-2025 school year, based on space availability.

At the January 18 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Anna Bassi, a 7th grader at Alice Birney TK-8 Public Waldorf School. Anna is an exceptionally well-rounded student. She was recognized for her impressive visual and performing arts talents and contributions, her outstanding academic success, and the kindness and friendliness she demonstrates at school.
