When to Keep Your Child Home from School
Guidance for Common Signs and Symptoms of Illness

Overview

Children should attend school every day and may attend school with mild or improving symptoms.  This guidance, based on CDPH recommendations, will help you decide whether your child is too sick to attend school.

If your child has symptoms that prevent them from participating meaningfully in school please keep your child at home.  Otherwise follow the symptom guidance below to decide whether they can attend school. A doctor鈥檚 note is generally not required to return to school.

Elementary School

James W. Marshall Elementary is located in the heart of the Rosemont community. The staff at James Marshall is committed to the academic and social emotional success of every student. We have several programs that enhance our daily classroom instruction. We provide leveled intervention in English-language arts for all primary students during the school day. This allows for small group instruction at the students鈥 instructional level. James Marshall has a partnership with CSU Sacramento and benefits from two different programs.

Isador Cohen

Isador Cohen is a thriving and diverse school of scholars from Transitional Kindergarten to 6th grade. We have a number of speciality programs, including GATE and CREST as well as a number of after school programs. We are one of the few school sites with complimentary morning care from 7:30 鈥 9:00 and after school care till 6:00 pm. H.W. Harkness Elementary is located in the heart of Golf Terrace Estates Neighborhood. We believe a strong partnership between students, staff and parents keep us achieving at high levels.
