Student Chronic Absence
With the support of district administrators, community partners, local funders and state policymakers, the Student Support & Health Services Department has been coordinating efforts to launch two pilot programs related to student chronic absence and attendance improvement. These projects focus on the use of school and community data to identify trends in student absence and points of intervention.
Materials Lab
The Materials Lab is a self-service project workshop. The purpose is to offer educators a space in which creativity in teaching can flourish. The freedom to utilize such a wide variety of crafting machines and materials always opens the door to inspiration. Teaching is then enhanced by creative ideas that complement the basic curriculum and assist students in learning.
Each site or department allocates their own Materials Lab budget for the year. Please check with your supervisor.
Language Immersion and other Alternative Programs
Our district is working diligently to provide opportunities for our students to expand their linguistic repertoire to meet the ever-changing needs of the global society. As a result, language immersion programs have become a pathway for our students to acquire fluent literacy skills in both English and their home language.
