Mental Health, Crisis Response and Suicide Prevention
A variety of mental health services are available to students experiencing social or emotional difficulties. With specially trained staff and a wide array of community mental health providers, Student Support and Health Services staff provide services directly to students and families.
Youth Development Support Services (YDSS)
Youth Development Support Services (YDSS) provides support to teachers and school site administrators in creating an environment conducive to the achievement of academic, as well as social-emotional, success for all students. Services are based upon the philosophy of building resiliency to assure that students successfully adapt in the face of adversity and develop social, academic, and vocational competence.
English Learner Master Plan
The primary purpose of the English Learner Master Plan is:
- To provide the district and the schools with a clear statement of policies related to the development, implementation, and evaluation of English learner programs and services.
- To provide specific procedural guidelines for the identification, assessment, and placement of students; reclassification of students; notification and involvement of parents; the formation and functioning of the District English Learner Advisory Committee and site English Learner Advisory Committees; the annual evaluation of English learner programs; and the use of state and federal funds for EL programs and services.
- To align policies and procedures with current state and federal mandates.

Matriculation and Orientation Center (MOC)
Welcome and thank you for visiting the department where the goal is to meet or exceed your expectations. The Matriculation & Orientation Center is the district’s centralized registration office for in-take of new language minority students to Sacramento City Unified School District.
