Initial Charter Petition Process
Please note the steps below:

  • Review Charter Administrative Regulations, Board Policies, and Resolutions prior to submitting a petition
  • Petitions must be delivered to the Office of the Superintendent
  • Petitions must be submitted between September 1 and March 1 to begin operations for the following school year
  • Public Hearing will be held no later than 30 days after petition submission
  • Board Action will be held no later than 60 days after petition submission, provided, however, that the date be extended for an additional 30 days upon written mutual agreement

Please submit your idea below. Be creative and innovative! While there is currently no district timetable or allocated budget for any project at 16th and N Street. The district is looking for creative partnerships that would bring value to the Midtown community.
