The School of Engineering and Sciences provides open access to a rigorous academic and technical course sequence and serves 7th - 12th grade students. We insist on high levels of learning for all students with the ultimate goal of increasing the diversity of the science and engineering workforce living and working in Sacramento. SES is a certified Linked Learning school and uses the Linked Learning approach to bring continuity and relevance to every class a student takes.

Program Information
Sacramento New Technology High School (SNTHS) targets individual student interests and the development of individual responsibility by teaching in a creative, business-like culture that values learning at high levels.The major mode of instruction is through project based learning, or PBL, that enables higher levels of learning through recognition of the relevance of the content that students study.
The Met Sacramento

Program Information
The Met is part of The Big Picture network of more than 100 schools worldwide (bigpicture.org). At the Met we believe that Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships are prerequisites to authentic educational experiences. The advisory is the center and core of the Met program, allowing a close relationship between student and teachers and helping keep a small student to teacher ratio. Students at the Met work two days every week at internships in their interest areas in the local community.

Program Information
ROTC develops informed responsible citizens with a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, self-discipline and leadership. Students will develop respect for and understand the need for constituted authority in a democratic society, strive to live healthy and drug-free lives, and will be provided with information on military service as a possible career.

Luther Burbank International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate honors program is housed in the Global Studies Small Learning Community. Students in this program want to challenge themselves to be the best they can be academically. The IB program is a worldwide education programs founded to give all students the opportunity to receive an education fit for a globalizing world, and is intended to develop students’ intellectual, emotional, personal and social skills.

Program Information
The Building Trades Academy is intended for students interested in exploring the skilled trades associated with the building industry as well as Engineering and Architecture disciplines. Students begin exploration through general introductory courses.
John F. Kennedy Marine Corps Jr. ROTC Program

Program Information
Marine Corps Junior ROTC (MCJROTC) is at its essence a Leadership Education Program meant to develop character and citizenship. Often young adults receive conflicting messages about right and wrong, good and bad. Joining and participating in MCJROTC can help students make the best decisions based upon learning and practicing core values and the development of character and personal responsibility.
John F. Kennedy Culinary Arts
Grades 9-12
Program Information
In the Culinary Arts Pathway, students expand their study of Culinary Arts and explore Hospitality Management. They learn and apply their knowledge through standards and project-based curriculum in the lab class setting and in a working food service kitchen. Students develop culinary skills through nutritional analysis and recipe costing and development. They learn the correct use of food service equipment and food and kitchen safety.
