Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District issued the following statement about the District鈥檚 support for students, staff and families after the shooting that took place at the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society on Sunday.
鈥淲e stand in solidarity with our Sikh community and condemn the violence that disrupted an event taking place at a house of worship,鈥 said 麻豆果冻传媒 Board President Chinua Rhodes. 鈥淲e are very concerned for our students who may be experiencing trauma as a result of this violence.鈥

麻豆果冻传媒 Statement on Racist Material Distributed at Kit Carson International Academy
Sacramento, CA 鈥 The District is aware of racist material distributed at Kit Carson International Academy today and wants all of our families to know this matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness. Sac City Unified strongly condemns the use of racist language or material and has taken swift disciplinary action against the two students involved. The district is also providing support for students and staff who may have experienced trauma or harm as a result.

Phoebe A. Hearst Elementary Recognized as 2023 California Distinguished School

Hearst Elementary School has been recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education. This year, the distinction was awarded to only 356 elementary schools out of the 5,824 statewide.
