Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Board Statement Following Announcement of Annual Evaluation for Superintendent Jorge Aguilar 

Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento City Unified School District Board voted today to approve the annual employee performance evaluation for Superintendent Jorge Aguilar, resulting in a satisfactory rating for the 2021-22 school year, and issued the following statement:

“The Sacramento City Unified School District Board is committed to success for all students and addressing the long-term needs of our district. Our Board and Superintendent Jorge Aguilar have engaged in hard work to form a cohesive governance team that is focused on these goals.

Sacramento City Unified to Distribute Narcan to All Schools Starting Week of October 10
Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Board of Education approves revision to Board Policy on Administering Medication and Monitoring Health Conditions

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento City Unified announced plans to distribute Narcan to all school sites starting the week of October 10th. Thursday night, the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Board of Education voted unanimously to revise Board Policy 5141.21: Administering Medication and Monitoring Health Conditions.

Food Literacy Center Celebrates Grand Opening of New Facility at Leataata Floyd Elementary School
New state-of-the-art facility to serve Sac City Unified Students, families, and community members

Sacramento, CA - After more than seven years in the making, the Food Literacy Center has a new home. The 4,500 square-foot facility at Leataata Floyd Elementary now serves as the headquarters for the nonprofit. The 2.5-acre facility features a cooking classroom, commercial kitchen, and student gardens to provide Food Literacy Center the space to advance their mission of developing food literacy in children across Sacramento.

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Responds to Unfair Practice Charge

Sacramento, CA - Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ is aware that the Sacramento City Teachers’ Association (SCTA) filed an Unfair Practice Charge with the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) alleging bad faith bargaining and interference with SCTA’s rights.  The District denies the allegations made in the complaint and will respond to the charge.

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Nutrition Services Offers Summer Meals for Children

Sacramento, CA - Beginning today, Thursday, June 30, 2022, the Sacramento City Unified School District’s (Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½) Nutrition Services Department is offering breakfast and lunch at more than 30 Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ school locations.

All children 18 years-old and under can receive a meal, no paperwork necessary and enrollment is not required. The summer meal program is available Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch through Friday, July 29, 2022. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Update on West Campus Racist Graffiti Investigation

Sacramento, CA - An investigation into racist graffiti and social media activity at West Campus High School in November 2021 is now complete and a report has been issued.  The Sacramento City Unified School District immediately retained a neutral outside investigator who spent six months looking into the complaints about West Campus.  This investigation was separate from the Sacramento Police Department’s criminal investigation of the matter.
