Special Education Community Advisory Committee Meetings
Dear Sac City Unified Families,
As we welcome the new school year, the Community Advisory Committee on Special Education (CAC) extends a warm welcome to all families, especially those with students receiving special education services. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break and are ready for an exciting and productive year ahead.
American Indian Education Program
The purpose of the Title VI Indian Education Formula Grant is to fulfill the Federal Government’s unique and continuing trust relationship with and responsibility to the American Indian/Alaska Natives for the educational needs of American Indian children. The Federal Government will continue to work with local educational agencies (Sacramento City Unified School District) toward the goal of ensuring programs that serve American Indian children are of the highest quality and provide for not only the basic elementary and secondary educational needs, but also the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of these children.

Enrollment Qualifications
Qualifications for services through the American Indian Education Program:
- A student is eligible if he/she is an enrolled member of an American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Group
- Or if his/her parents or grandparents are an enrolled member of an American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Group.
- A complete 506 form on file for each child.
Parent Committee
In efforts to engage parents and the community, we encourage your participation in the Parent Committee meetings scheduled for the year. Any parent with a student enrolled in the Indian Education Program is eligible to be a committee member. The parent committee advises, approves, and signs off on programs allocated for the American Indian Education Program within the yearly grant. Parents are our strongest advocates for change and growth of the AIEP by informing staff, administrators, and programs that serve their students on a daily basis.

Native Youth of Sacramento (NYS)
NYS is the youth group made up of 7th-12th grade Native students out of the Sacramento City Unified School District. The purpose of the youth organization is to enhance the general educational experience of Native students by providing a safe space where bi-weekly meetings are held. As youth leaders, they collaborate with Native community events and provide the student voice within the district to promote the educational needs and advancements for our Native youth.
Enrollment Qualifications
Students can qualify for academic assistance by filling out at Title VI Student Eligibility Certification Form.

Infinite Campus Non-Household Relationships Update
2024-2025
In Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Infinite Campus system, non-household relationships refer to individuals who are authorized to pick up and care for a student if the guardian is unavailable. These individuals might include family friends, neighbors, or other trusted adults who have been given written or verbal permission by the student’s guardian. The system keeps track of these authorized persons to ensure that students are safely released to individuals who have proper consent.
To update your student(s) non-household relationships in Infinite Campus, follow the steps below. Please note that changes will go through a review process and may not be visible on the IC Portal immediately.
Step One: Log In
Log in to your .
If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, request an activation key from your student’s school office to .
Step Two: Navigate to Student Demographics
After logging in to your Parent Portal account, select More on the left side menu bar. If you do not see it, click the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
Then, select Demographics.
Step Three: Update Non-Household Relationships
If your family has more than one student enrolled in Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½, select the specific student’s name from the top left of the screen to update Non-Household Contacts for that student.
In the Non-Household Relationships section, click on the contact you need to update.
If you need to add a new contact, click the Add button at the bottom.
Non-Household Contact Changes Approval
Once you submit your contact changes, staff will be notified through Infinite Campus to review and approve the updates. Please note that changes may go through a review process and may not be immediately visible on the portal.
You will get a notice in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal inbox, when the request is processed.
