To Eliminate Budget Deficit And Protect Funding For Students, Sac City Unified Board of Education and Superintendent Call On Employees To Make “Shared Sacrificesâ€

The Sacramento City Unified School District announced in a video statement on Wednesday that it has managed to find millions in cost savings, with most cuts being made away from the classroom. However, Superintendent Aguilar and Board President Jessie Ryan warned that these cuts will not be enough to entirely address the district’s structural deficit. Both leaders called on district employees to rise to the occasion and make shared sacrifices to eliminate the structural budget deficit. .

Las escuelas están cerradas hoy, pero queremos mantenerlo actualizado sobre el estado de la calidad del aire. Los niveles de calidad del aire se mantienen a niveles muy peligrosos esta mañana. Cuando la calidad del aire alcanza estos niveles, su hijo debe permanecer dentro de la casa y no hacer actividades al exterior hasta que la calidad del aire se mejore.

Sac City Schools Are Keeping Students Indoors Due To Poor Air Quality

UPDATED 11/14/18 @ 8:05 P.M. - Our schools will remain open Thursday, November 15th. We understand that many of our families count on us to provide students with a safe and supervised environment to go to during the day. We take this responsibility very seriously and before making the decision to keep our schools open, we did check on the air quality conditions at our schools and consulted with leadership at the Sacramento Air Quality Management District.
