Register for Transitional Kindergarten

To be eligible to register for transitional kindergarten:

  • For the 2024-2025 school year, children must be five years old September 2, 2024, through June 2, 2025. 
  • For the 2025–2026 school year, children who will turn four years old by September 1, 2025 are eligible.

Enrollment Information

If your child was born after June 2, 2025, you can fill out the to be contacted on or after August 19, 2024, if space is available for your student in one of our Transitional Kindergarten classrooms.

Immunization Requirements

California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade. Parent/guardians must show their child’s Immunization Record as proof of immunization. Families will be required to upload their student’s Immunization Record as part of the registration process.

Before and After School Care

Families who are interested in having their TK student in Sac City Unified’s Expanded Learning (before and after school) program can register at . You can reach out to Youth Development Support Services at (916) 643-7919 if you have any questions.

School Program

John F. Kennedy AP Capstone/PACE
Grades 9-12

Program Information

AP Capstone/PACE offers students a four-year advanced academic program and JFK is the only Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ school to offer this program. Each AP Capstone student takes a rigorous college-prep curriculum, including cohorted English and History courses in grade 9 to prepare them for AP Seminar in place of English 10. As juniors, they take AP Research. Additionally, students must take at least 4 other AP classes to qualify for the AP Capstone diploma. Students who complete the two-year program of AP Seminar and AP Research can earn one of two different awards.

C.K. McClatchy Dance VAPA Program
Grades 9-12

Program Information

The CKM VAPA dance company is a four-year experience designed to introduce, refine, critique, and elevate dance techniques in jazz, ballet, musical theater, hip hop, modern, contemporary/lyrical, cultural dances, and student-inspired dance styles. Students will be exposed to professional level dancing by attending local and non-local performances. Students will study dance techniques as well as history, culture, and theory. Students will explore improvisation and choreographic form.

Grades 9-12

Program Information

The McClatchy High School VAPA Music Program is committed to the musical development of its members. Students of the program enroll in either Concert Band, Orchestra, or Choir all four years of high school. Despite emphasizing instruction through traditional music ensembles, all music-literate instrumentalists and vocalists such as guitarists and pianists are welcome to participate.

Program Information

CKM VAPA Theater is a four-year program that explores theater literature, performance, and historical and cultural connections. Improvisation, creative dramatics, and scene work connect students to acting and character development. Theater courses provide opportunities for students to develop critical listening and thinking skills, stage presence, and ensemble work, culminating in periodic classroom performances. Theater gives students an opportunity to develop fundamental assessment and problem-solving skills.
