Summer Scamper 5k, Kids’ Fun Run and Family Festival Returns to Stanford University for 15th Year

The family-friendly event raises funds to provide care, comfort and cures for patients at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif.—The 15th annual is set to take place on the beautiful Stanford University campus on Saturday, June 21, promising to be a fun-filled day for the entire family. Summer Scamper is the largest community fundraiser of the year for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.

Every dollar raised supports extraordinary care and groundbreaking research for children facing serious illnesses. This year’s event will celebrate six inspiring , including 7-year-old , who spent 111 days at Packard Children’s Hospital and underwent two open-heart surgeries, one of which was for a heart transplant.

“I hope everyone will join us for a morning of family-friendly fun and celebration,” says Cynthia Brandt, president and CEO of the . “Funds raised through Summer Scamper help ensure that every local child who comes through our children’s hospital doors has access to expert care and family services, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.”

Summer Scamper will take place on Saturday, June 21, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Track House Lot, on the corner of Galvez Street and Campus Drive. Participants of all ages can register for the 5k run, walk and adaptive division, and children ages 3-10 can enjoy the Kids’ Fun Run. Every entrant receives a special limited edition Scamper T-shirt and a finisher medal. Registration includes access to the Family Festival, featuring music, food trucks, activities for children of all ages, booths from local businesses, wellness exhibits and more. Stanford University athletes will also be in attendance to meet and entertain sports fans.

Summer Scamper is hosted by the . Since 2011, the event has raised more than $6 million for the children’s hospital and the Stanford School of Medicine’s child and maternal health programs.
