WASHINGTON, DC 鈥 On Jan. 1, 2022, Paul A. King, president and CEO of 麻豆果冻传媒 Children鈥檚 Health in Palo Alto, California, became Chair of the Board of Trustees of the (CHA). King鈥檚 leadership of CHA鈥檚 board coincides with the organization鈥檚 focus on multi-year priorities including: combatting the mental health emergency among children and adolescents; innovating health care approaches for improving pediatric聽care, advocating for policies to support the capacity and viability of children鈥檚 hospitals; and building greater health equity for children.
鈥淥ur nation鈥檚 children are at a pivotal point as we near two years of battling the COVID-19 pandemic. We must do everything in our power to ensure they feel protected and supported by advancing and implementing health care solutions and policies for their long-term health and well-being,鈥 said King. 鈥淭he Children鈥檚 Hospital Association has addressed the most pressing health care needs of our youngest and most vulnerable individuals, and I look forward to serving as board chair to help advocate and lead positive change in children鈥檚 health care.鈥
The Children鈥檚 Hospital Association is the national voice of more than 200 children鈥檚 hospitals, advancing child health through innovation in the quality, cost and delivery of care. 鈥淧aul is the right leader at an unprecedented time for children鈥檚 hospitals,鈥 added Mark Wietecha, CEO of CHA. 鈥淗e will lead the way and help us push through current and emerging crises by strengthening our voice, collaboration and impact.鈥
King was appointed president and CEO of Stanford聽Medicine Children鈥檚 Health in 2019. Prior to joining Stanford聽Medicine Children鈥檚 Health, King spent 35 years in healthcare management, 23 of those years in executive roles leading pediatric health care enterprises having most recently served as the executive director at the University of Michigan鈥檚 C.S. Mott Children鈥檚 Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women鈥檚 Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
King succeeds Marcy Doderer, president and CEO of Arkansas Children鈥檚, in leading the 2022 CHA Board of Trustees.
