Two distinguishing awards, announced in July, recognize the newly opened Lucile Packard Children鈥檚 Hospital Stanford. Since its opening in December 2017, the hospital has received national attention for the innovative, family-centered and sustainable design of its new Main building and expanded campus.
The American Institute of Architects selected Packard Children鈥檚 for their 2018 National Healthcare Design Award which showcase the best of health care building design, health care planning and health care design-oriented research. The awards highlight the trends of health care facilities and the future direction of these facilities.
The children鈥檚 hospital was also selected as a 2018 Silicon Valley Business Journal Structures award winner for . The Structures award recognizes excellence in Bay Area-based health care construction projects (hospitals, medical offices or medical facilities) completed between June 2017 and June 2018.

In April 2018 the hospital announced that it received LEED Platinum designation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), making it one of just five new hospitals 鈥 and the second children鈥檚 hospital 鈥 in the world to earn the USGBC鈥檚 Platinum designation.
