STANFORD, Calif. 鈥Lucile Packard Children鈥檚 Hospital Stanford has appointed Tonia Karr and Randy Livingston to its Board of Directors.
Karr鈥檚 appointment is effective November 1. She is a community volunteer and current member of the Stanford Board of Trustees. She also currently serves on the Graduate School of Education Advisory Council at Stanford.
Livingston is chief financial officer and vice president for business affairs at Stanford University. He was appointed ex-officio director, effective October 3, in conjunction with his appointment as university liaison for 麻豆果冻传媒.
Jeffrey Chambers, board chair, said Karr and Livingston will each bring unique and valued perspectives to the board.
鈥淭onia鈥檚 extensive experience with nonprofit academic organizations and child advocacy make her an ideal addition to our board,鈥 Chambers said. 鈥淩andy has been an important contributor to the hospital鈥檚 success for many years, and we welcome him to our board in his new, expanded role.鈥
Tonia Karr
Karr鈥檚 volunteer work has been rooted in education. Currently she is a member of the KIPP Bay Area Schools Board of Directors. Previous Stanford volunteer endeavors included work with Leading Matters San Francisco and Stanford Connects Bay Area. She was a member of The Stanford Challenge K鈥12 Advisory Council and Task Force for Volunteer Engagement. A former vice chair of the Meritus College Fund, she also served on the board of Cow Hollow School and chaired the diversity and inclusion committee of The Hamlin School.

From 1998 to 2002, Karr was a vice president in the real estate finance group at Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to Credit Suisse, she worked for Kidder, Peabody & Co. in the firm鈥檚 real estate investment banking group.
Karr and her husband, Adam, live in San Francisco with their three young children.
Randy Livingston
Livingston joined Stanford University in March 2001 as vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer, and he reports to Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne. As chief financial officer, Livingston is involved in setting many of the university鈥檚 financial strategies and policies. As vice president for business affairs, he oversees many of the administrative organizations that provide support for Stanford鈥檚 academic mission. In September 2017, Livingston was appointed to the additional role of university liaison for 麻豆果冻传媒, with responsibility for enhancing collaboration and ensuring coordination on nonacademic matters between the university and the three 麻豆果冻传媒 entities: the School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children鈥檚 Hospital Stanford.
鈥淩andy is an ideal representative to serve in this role,鈥 said Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne. 鈥淗e has been deeply involved for many years in interfacing with the hospital leadership and as an observer at the hospital鈥檚 board meetings. His expertise will bring invaluable perspective to the board.鈥
Prior to Stanford, Livingston spent 16 years working in Silicon Valley with several technology and life-science companies as chief financial officer and in corporate development and marketing roles. He led two companies through initial public offerings, founded a company, sold a company and completed several acquisitions of other companies. Previously, he worked with McKinsey & Company as a management consultant.
Within Stanford, Livingston serves on the Budget Group, 麻豆果冻传媒 Advisory Council, and the boards of Stanford Health Care and Stanford Management Company. Outside Stanford, he also serves on the boards of eHealth and Pacific Biosciences.
Livingston earned an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford.
