Board of Directors at Lucile Packard Children鈥檚 Hospital Stanford Appoints Sierra Burnett Clark

STANFORD, Calif. 鈥 Lucile Packard Children鈥檚 Hospital Stanford has appointed Sierra Burnett Clark to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2018.

Clark currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and is the granddaughter of the hospital鈥檚 founder, Lucile Salter Packard. Packard鈥檚 daughter, Susan Packard Orr, stepped down from the Board in December 2017.

Invaluable link

鈥淪ierra is a terrific addition to our Board,鈥 said Jeff Chambers, board chair. 鈥淚n addition to bringing considerable expertise from her academic and professional background, she will provide the invaluable link between the Packard family, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the hospital.鈥

Clark received her PhD from the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University. She has taught courses on contemporary food issues and food culture at New York University and The New School.

In addition, Clark holds a B.A. from Brown University in International Relations, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and a Grand Dipl么me in Culinary Arts from the French Culinary Institute. Clark has worked as a research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations and as an editor at Saveur magazine. She also serves on the Board of Directors for FoodCorps.

Today Clark lives in San Francisco with her husband and two year old daughter.
