Updated public health guidance for COVID-19 for the 2023-2024 school year

Public health guidance has been updated for the 2023-24 school year in regards to COVID-19 mitigation in schools, and we wanted to share with you how this will look this school year.

We had so much fun welcoming students back for the 2023-2024 school year this week! Our Interim Superintendent, Lisa Allen, and Sac City Unified鈥檚 mascot, Crispin, had fun visiting our schools, students and families on the first day.
As a reminder, schools will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy your weekend and we鈥檒l see your student back on Tuesday, September 5!

In case you missed it, at last night鈥檚 Sac City Unified Board of Education meeting, the Board formally approved a recently negotiated compensation agreement with the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA), which includes a 10% ongoing salary increase.

September 21, 2023
At the September 21 Sacramento City Unified School Board meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Krystal Thomas as Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and the appointment of Matthew Kempen as Principal of Theodore Judah Elementary School. Student Board Member Liliana 鈥淕racie鈥 Miller Segura was sworn in by Board Member Christina Pritchett, and Board Member Jasjit Singh presented a Stellar Teacher award to Jason Dauenhauer, a teacher at Hiram Johnson High School.
The Board took action to approve three Resolutions:
