Update on West Campus Racist Graffiti Investigation

Sacramento, CA - An investigation into racist graffiti and social media activity at West Campus High School in November 2021 is now complete and a report has been issued.  The Sacramento City Unified School District immediately retained a neutral outside investigator who spent six months looking into the complaints about West Campus.  This investigation was separate from the Sacramento Police Department’s criminal investigation of the matter.

Sacramento City Unified Provides Update on Kit Carson International Academy Investigation

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District has ended its employment relationship with a teacher who used racist language in a classroom at Kit Carson International Academy last June. The district quickly removed the teacher from the classroom following the incident, and the teacher was placed on administrative leave during an investigation about the matter.

Negotiations to Recover Lost School Days & Instructional Minutes

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District (Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½) and the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) have taken an important step toward reaching an agreement on how to recover school days and instructional time that were lost due to the strike, which began March 23rd.

Sacramento, CA â€“  The following provides an update on where negotiations stand with SCTA and SEIU.
 
SCTA and SEIU are independent labor unions that are currently striking at the same time. The Sacramento City Unified School District (Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½) is in active, yet separate, negotiations with both labor partners. The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ team has devoted considerable hours in the past few days meeting with both union bargaining teams and in caucus to discuss options and ideas for resolving this dispute.

Negotiations Progress Update for Wednesday, March 30

ACHIEVING SHARED GOALS IN SERVICE OF OUR STUDENTS In negotiations with SCTA, the district is offering: On top of already providing the highest compensation in the region, the District is offering to pay: 100% of health care coverage for ALL SCTA-represented employees AND their families, AND a raise, AND one-time bonuses, AND additional paid professional development days. 100% PAY INCREASE ONE TIME BONUSES MORE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INCREASED PAY FOR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS PAID COVERAGE • Ongoing 3% salary increase starting in the 2021-22 school year. . Negotiations Update for Wednesday, March 30

On Wednesday, March 30, the Sacramento City Unified School District (Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½) negotiations team met with SCTA throughout the afternoon and continues to meet tonight. The district’s negotiations team is also meeting with SEIU this evening.
