Overview

Sexual harassment violates federal and state law as well as the Sacramento City Unified School District’s Board Policies and Administrative Regulations – 4119.11(a) and 5145.7(a). By definition, “sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature made by someone from or in the work or educational setting.”

Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures

The district shall use uniform complaint procedures to address Williams’s complaints regarding insufficiency of instructional materials, emergency or urgent facilities conditions that pose a threat to the health and safety of pupils or staff, and/or teacher vacancy or misassignment issues as provided in Administrative Regulation 1312.4.

Sexual Harassment

The Governing Board is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment that is free of harassment and discrimination. The Board prohibits, at school or at school-sponsored or school-related activities, sexual harassment targeted at any student by any person. The Board also prohibits retaliatory behavior or action against any person who submits a complaint or testifies about, or otherwise supports a complainant in alleging sexual harassment.

Verification of Employment and Salary

Overview

Sacramento City Unified School District has contracted with The Work Number, which is an automated service that provides instant employment and income verification. Through the use of a touch-tone telephone or the Internet, this fast, secure service verifies employment verbally and/or in writing when applying for a mortgage or loan, for reference checking, leasing an apartment, or any other instance where proof of employment or income is needed. Uniform Complaint Procedures

The Governing Board recognizes that the district has the primary responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing educational programs. The Board encourages early resolution of complaints whenever possible. To resolve complaints which may require a more formal process, the Board adopts the uniform system of complaint processes specified in 5 CCR 4600-4670 and the accompanying administrative regulation.
