Foster Youth Services
Foster Youth Services (FYS) – a group of school professionals with expertise in the both educational and social service systems – joined the SSHS family in 2018. The FYS program is designed to serve the unique educational, social and emotional needs of children in foster care by building assets that make them resilient and ultimately successful. FYS began operating in 1973 in Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½. Our program has successfully served thousands of foster youth, markedly improving their school performance and increasing their chances for success later in life.

Education Code Section 221.8
Education Code section 221.8 provides as follows:
The following list of rights, which are based on the relevant provisions of the federal regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. Sec. 1681 et seq.), may be used by the department for purposes of Section 221.6:
(a) You have the right to fair and equitable treatment and you shall not be discriminated against based on your sex.

Parent Participation Preschool
Nurturing, caring teachers will help you and your child grow to your full potential in this unique preschool setting. Our education is focused on child development, positive discipline and developmentally appropriate practices.
Parents work in the classroom in collaboration and guidance of the teacher to help children develop a variety of skills. Parents also learn parenting techniques to use in the classroom and at home.
Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)
Curriculum and enrichment programs that focus on student’s skills, knowledge, and abilities in dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts in grades K-12.
