California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA)

Overview

California state law, the , requires that comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention education be provided to students at least once in middle school and once in high school, starting in 7th grade. Instruction must encourage students to communicate with parents, guardians or other trusted adults about human sexuality. Instruction must be medically accurate, age鈥恆ppropriate and inclusive of all students. It must include the following:

Child Find Obligations

The Child Find process requires Sacramento City Unified School District (麻豆果冻传媒) to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities residing in its jurisdiction. This obligation includes all students who attend private (including religious) schools, migrant or homeless students, students who are wards of the State, and students with suspected disabilities who are not advancing in grade level.
