Early Learning and Care Programs
Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Early Learning and Care programs provide continuous comprehensive center-based and home-based services to expectant families, infants/toddlers, preschool and school-age children. Children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn so they are engaged in active learning with teachers providing learning experiences based on best practices reflecting how children develop and learn. We believe that a close home/school connection is essential for children to reach their full potential.
Student Support Centers
SSHS operates Student Support Centers at schools throughout the district to provide support to students who are struggling socially, emotionally, behaviorally and/or academically. At each center, a coordinator works closely with school staff to identify students in need of assistance. Once identified, social workers, family advocates, interns, and community partners work directly with students and parents to address issues that are of concern to them, drawing on other resources for additional support.
Language Aquisition Programs
Dual Language
Sacramento City Unified School District Language Immersion and Bilingual Programs.
Welcome to Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Language Immersion Home Page. Our district is working diligently to provide opportunities for our students to expand their linguistic repertoire to meet the ever-changing needs of the global economy. As a result, language immersion programs have become a pathway for our students to become literate in both English and their home language.
Multilingual Literacy
The Sacramento City Unified School District ELD/ELA departments celebrate and amplify the identities of all English Learners. We affirm that the unique needs and identities each student brings to their classrooms are an asset to the school community. We strive to provide equitable access to rigorous instruction and develop a community of responsible learners who are inspired to be curious and feel empowered to direct their own learning and engage with their community.
