Connects students to important tools and resources, at a time more challenging than ever
SACRAMENTO - Sacramento City Unified School District announced today the debut of a new Mental Health Wellness App for students. The app, called grace, stands for 鈥淕iving Resources and Care Everyday.鈥 The wellness app was created by students, for students and connects users with school-based resources, local community resources, a virtual calming room, crisis support lines and more. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Students and Staff Approved by Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education
Sacramento, CA 鈥 The Sacramento City Unified School District took action at the October 12 Special Board of Education Meeting to require vaccinations against COVID-19 for both staff and eligible students (ages 12 and over) by November 30, 2021.
The process to submit vaccination records, or to file an exemption for medical or personal beliefs, will be announced later this month for those opting to undergo regular routine COVID-19 testing.

582 Sac City Unified Graduates Earn the Seal of Biliteracy
SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education will recognize 582 graduates who have achieved the State Seal of Biliteracy. The Board will recognize these students at its meeting on Thursday, May 20, 2021. The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction for graduating high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. The Seal will appear on each student鈥檚 diploma.
Sacramento City Unified School District Wins $2.5 Million Grant to Expand Mental Health Services for Students and Community in South Sacramento
SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento City Unified School District announced today that the district has won a $2.5 million grant to expand mental health services for students and community members by establishing Student Support Centers at each school site in a network of five schools in the South Sacramento Community Schools (SSCS) consortium.

SACRAMENTO - Luther Burbank High School today hosted a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the new baseball and upcoming softball fields. Community and school leaders attended the event to celebrate the group effort made by community members, elected officials and school staff to provide the new field for use by student athletes. The field replaces the former Burbank field that was notoriously uneven, spurring the phrase 鈥渢he Burbank hop鈥 in reference to the way the ball hopped around as it rolled across the field.

SACRAMENTO - Sacramento City Unified today announced that it will be ready to welcome students back to in-person learning by April 8. The district is moving forward with its reopening and has reached agreement with the Sacramento City Teachers Association, after months of negotiations. The agreement includes a number of modifications to the district鈥檚 current plan, including bringing secondary students back earlier than previously projected.

SACRAMENTO 鈥 Today, Sacramento City Unified School District joined six other large urban school districts in sending a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom to provide feedback on the Safe Schools for All Plan. Sacramento City Unified Superintendent Jorge Aguilar joined the superintendents of Fresno Unified, Long Beach Unified, Los Angeles Unified, Oakland Unified, San Diego Unified, and San Francisco Unified School Districts in sending the letter, which urges the state to provide:
