Childhood is such a fascinating time, and it鈥檚 my job to help make the world seem a little less scary and make a little more sense, without decreasing the wonder of it.

Before diving into a care plan, I try to understand what a patient鈥檚 needs and expectations are. It鈥檚 important for me to try to put myself in both the child's and parents鈥� shoes and look at things from their perspectives. I tell my patients that my job is to help them be informed and make the best decisions they can.

The saying, 鈥淏eing a parent is like taking your heart out of your body and letting it walk around outside,鈥� really captures how incredibly vulnerable the parenting experience is. Parenting three kids has been transformative, and I try to use my own experiences to help smooth out the wrinkles that crop up along the way.
