Pediatrics
鈥淓very day I think how lucky I am that I get to play with babies and watch them grow.鈥
As a young child, I spent weekends doing rounds at local hospitals with my pediatric cardiologist father. What he did and how he helped children really intrigued me, so I always knew that I was going to go into pediatrics.
Kids are so much fun; the things that come out of their mouths are hysterical, unexpected, and honest. It鈥檚 amazing how resilient kids are, even when they鈥檙e sick. Every day, I think how lucky I am that I get to play with babies and watch them grow.
And it鈥檚 not just the kids, it鈥檚 the parents, too. As a parent myself, I鈥檓 right in the thick of it, so I feel a sense of camaraderie with them. There鈥檚 a sense of compassion that comes along with being a parent, plus the combination of my medical knowledge and real-life experiences allows me to allay their fears.
