Patient and Family Mental Health Resources

We have compiled a list of mental health resources related to fertility, pregnancy, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care, and postpartum support for you—both our own Stanford-based resources and also nationally respected organizations vetted by our doctors.

Infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss mental health resources

 - A national organization that offers virtual grief support groups and one-on-one peer support for parents grieving the loss of a baby before, during, or after birth.

 - A national organization that provides services for enhancing the lives of women. Includes counseling for pregnancy loss, infant loss, and infertility.

 - A national organization that offers comprehensive information on pregnancy loss.

NICU mental health resources

 - A national nonprofit support organization, developed by a NICU parent, that provides parents with individual and group counseling, educational resources, bereavement support, peer mentors, and community. In English and Spanish.

Postpartum support

 - An international nonprofit that provides support for perinatal (before, during, after pregnancy) mood and anxiety disorder, postpartum depression, and psychosis via 24/7 help line. Includes peer support and tailored support groups.

 - A national organization that offers services for enhancing the lives of women. Includes counseling appointments, play therapy for children, and resources.
