Question: Why is the waiver for Joseph Bonnheim not on the agenda?
The Board of Education’s Executive Committee places items on the agenda. The request for a waiver has been considered by the Board’s Executive Committee and the agenda as posted reflects the committee’s decision.
Question: Why can’t I find out when the Executive Committee meets to discuss the Board agenda?
As the Executive Committee does not constitute a quorum, meetings of the Executive Committee are not subject to the Brown Act.
Question: What is the role of the Student Board member?
The student board member is the voice of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ students on the Board of Education. The student board member provides input and information, comments on issues and reports on the activities of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ students. The student board member also votes on decisions, although the vote is advisory. It is an important role.
Question: How much has been spent on school closure?
Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ has spent $140,581 from the General Fund on school closures. As part of the anticipated savings projected, the amount of $110,000 was for budgeted closure expenditures. This amount did not include moving stipends for teachers. These are one-time costs.
